The web interface (or web page) is the main interactive screen in HomeSeer. Some features may be hidden, however, if the user doesn't have full access (administrator) rights, as specified in the Web Users Setup screen. In addition, which navigation buttons appear beneath the time and date bar depends on whether or not the option to display those buttons is enabled in the Web Site Setup screen.
The web interface can be accessed from the computer on which HomeSeer is installed or from any web browser anywhere in the world. HomeSeer must be set up to allow this type of access in the Web Server Setup screen.
The web interface can be accessed using one of these methods (HomeSeer must be running in order for it to be accessed):
From the HomeSeer Windows UI screen, select an option from the Edit or View menu options at the top of the screen.
On the computer running HomeSeer, right-click on the HomeSeer icon in the system status tray and select View Devices from the pop-up menu.
On the computer running HomeSeer, launch Internet Explorer and type http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 in the Address bar and press Enter or click Go.
On a computer on the same network as the HomeSeer computer (home network), type http://hostname where "hostname" is the name of the HomeSeer computer. Alternatively, type http://192.168.0.n, where "n" is the last digit of the IP address of the HomeSeer computer on the home network.
On a computer other than the one running HomeSeer, launch Internet Explorer and type http:// followed by the IP address of the HomeSeer computer.
Click the HomeSeer Screens link at left for more information on the various screens that appear in the web interface.
