Dashboards Come to HS4

The new dashboard feature in our latest beta provides faster access to the things you use most in HS4.

Beta v4.2.21.15 adds much-improved control capabilities to HS4 with a new customizable dashboard feature. The new feature provides better device organization and faster access on any desktop or mobile device.

What's a Dashboard?

Dashboards are custom views of HS4 elements, grouped in the manner of your choice. In the first release, product devices, virtual devices and cameras can be grouped.

Dashboard examples:

  • All light switches and bulbs
  • Surveillance cameras, door locks and smoke/CO sensors
  • Battery values for all devices in your system
  • Garage camera, door controller and driveway lights
  • All thermostats and climate sensors
  • All leak sensors and water valve controllers
  • Node status (online/offline) for all devices

How Can I Test This?

Any HS4 user can test dashboards in the latest beta. Navigate to the General tab of Setup, click the CHECK UPDATE button and then INSTALL BETA. The installation should take a few minutes and then HS4 will restart.

  1. I’d love the ability to group devices by room or floor, allowing us to see a single tile representing all devices in a specific room or on a particular floor.

  2. I hope that the battery reporting issue has been addressed in this beta release. I have been fighting this issue ever since I began using HS way back. I have some devices that have gone over a 9 months without reporting. This issue seems to be related to specific vendors. I have shades that report every day, while Aeotec devices will go months without reporting.

    1. This beta release is for HS4. Z-Wave issues are controlled solely by the Z-Wave plugin. Are you using the new Z-Wave Plus plugin that was released earlier this year? That has a number of fixes in it that address issues like this.
