News: Public Statement about our HomeSeer Alexa-Skill

An Important update regarding emails sent to HomeSeer customers about our Alexa-Skill

Late last week we at HomeSeer were notified that some of our customers received a concerning email regarding our Alexa-Skill, in which it was stated “the HomeSeer Smart Home Skill will not be supported”. We would like to address all of your concerns in this blog.

We were not contacted directly or notified about this situation

HomeSeer was not made aware of this supposed ‘decision’. After careful review of all our channels of communication we have not been contacted or notified. At this moment we can only speculate as to the reasoning behind the other party’s decision to send these emails, however, we believe that it had been done in error.

The HomeSeer Alexa-Skill will not have its support dropped

To the best of our knowledge HomeSeer is not in violation with it’s agreement with the other party. We have not have not been removed as a developer or given a specific deadline.

We are currently in development of an update for our Alexa-Skill, which is currently in the testing phase. We can assure you that the update will be submitted and published before the arbitrary deadline of November 2025 outlines in this emails.

We are not dropping our support for the Alexa-Skill, and at present we do not believe the email to be factually correct. The update will be complaint with all necessary standards and will continue to provide Alexa integration with your HomeSeer system.

We at HomeSeer want to sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or distress garnered from this email. Over the recent months we have placed specific emphasis in improving our updates and communications to you, our customers, through the newsletters and blogs. We want to make a point of keeping everyone in the know about everything HomeSeer.  We are always striving for improvement. We are unhappy about this recent event because it only serves to cause concern and damage the trust we have tried to develop over the decades.

Moving Forward

We would like to assure you that we are still proactively looking into the situation. We are reaching out to the other party through all avenues of communication to get to the bottom of this. As we find out more information we will let you know via the blog and newsletter.
